Bethenny Frankel is best known as one of the two final contestants in the 2005 season finale of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. Dawna Stone won the competition that season, but Frankel did not take that as a defeat and went on to kick start here career in the entertainment industry after leaving the show in late 2005. Before her appearance in the 2005 TV show she was already involved in numerous TV productions and small budget movies.
Bethenny Frankel started acting in 1994 when she landed the lead role in Hollywood Hills 90028. Hollywood Hills 90028 was directed by aspiring film maker Barry Blake and centered on a high school student who, after being transferred to a new school, falls for her nerdy class mate, Mike, played by David K. Brown, after his mother passes away and his father turns to alcohol as a form of counseling. The movie was a short 1 hour 12 minutes and did not receive good reviews.
The following year, 1995, Frankel played the role of Bridgett in Wish Me Luck. The movie was directed, written and produced by Phillip J. Jones, who has directed films such as Getting Up in 1997 and Hellborn in 2003, which was his most successful movie. Wish Me Luck was a story about a nerdy junior college student, Henry Krinkle, played by Zen Gesner, who finds a Genie’s lamp and discovers a Genie named Jeannie, played by Avalon Anders and wishes for her to help him become a cool “man”.
After trying her hand at acting Bethenny Frankel became a production assistant on the popular hit teen series Saved by the Bell and then moved on to study to be a chef at the New York Natural Gourmet Culinary Institute. After her graduation she started her own baking company called BethennyBakes and offered egg, wheat and diary free cooked and baked goods to private clientele, the company also offered a delivery services for far away clients.
BethennyBakes lasted up until 2009 when Frankel decided to re-launch her company and re-branded it as Frankel’s Skinnygirl. This was after her appearance in The Apprentice: Martha Stewart in 2005. Bethenny Frankel then went on to guest spots on talk shows like The Tyra Banks Show, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, The Bonnie Hunt Show and Today up until 2010. In the same year, 2010, she featured in a documentary / Mini Series called Undatable and finished off the TV show, The Real Housewives of New York City.
Also in 2010 she was featured on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The View and the Rachael Ray Show. The Rachael Ray Show had Bethenny Frankel back to feature in 2011. This was not the only show that had Frankel back for a repeat appearance; she also appeared in Lopez Tonight, The Wendy Williams Show and the Bonnie Hunt Show in numerous episodes up until 2011. 2010 also saw the start of Frankel’s own show, Bethenny Ever After, which documents her life as a wife, mother and cut-throat business woman.
